About the Base

In May 2010, MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai)(hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Training Base”), one of the earliest four bases founded in China as well as the only one located in Yangtze-River Delta area, was established after the awarding of Shanghai Foreign Economics and Trade Education Training Center from MOFCOM. In July 2011, Shanghai Foreign Economics and Trade Education Training Center was renamed as Shanghai Education and Training Center of Commerce. In March 2016, with the merging of Shanghai Education and Training Center of Commerce into Shanghai Business School, Shanghai Training Base was a branch of the College of Continuing Education and a part of SBS.In May 2020, Shanghai Training Base celebrated its 10th anniversary.In January, 2021, to meet the developmental needs of SBS, Shanghai Training Base and the College of International Education were co-located for the convenience of handling official affairs jointly.He Ying, Vice President of SBS, serves concurrently as Director of Shanghai Training Base. Chen Wei, Executive Vice Dean of the College of International Education of SBS and Dai Ying,Vice Dean of the College of International Education of SBS, serves concurrently as Deputy Director of Shanghai Training Base.

To serve China's opening-up policy, Shanghai Training Base implements the commitments made by Chinese leaders to the international community in a series of major multilateral activities and bilateral high-level visits, proactively organizes semianars for international business officials, and carries out its international obligations. Through conducting the semianars , Shanghai Training Base is committed to cultivating talents for developing countries and promoting the friendly relationship and economic and trade cooperation between China and developing countries.

By the end of 2023, Shanghai Training Base had organized 265 seminars (including 9 ministerial seminars) offline and online, trained 8666 officials (including 35 ministerial level officials) from 6 continents and 144 countries and regions. The training languages covered English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian and Mongolian.

Shanghai Training Base has been insisting on its work philosophy: Demand-oriented, Innovation-powered, Service-based, and Quality-centered, focusing on its training objectives, based on its business characteristics, fully relying on the geographical advantages and resources of Shanghai to dedicate itself into one with international influence.
