To preserve traditional Chinese folk culture and deepen cultural exchange between Chinese and international youth, on June 6, the "Experience China"—The 16th Shanghai Region and 4th Yangtze River Delta HEIs International Students Dragon Boat Race was held at the Fengxian Campus of East China University of Science and Technology. The College of International Education at Shanghai Business School (SBS) organized a team of more than twenty international students to compete in the race. Using the dragon boat as a medium, they paddled through the waves, showcasing the youthful spirit of SBS international students on the blue waters.

To strengthen value-based education, guide international students to understand China's development story, grasp China's development philosophy, and cultivate their bond with China, the College of International Education held a series of educational courses on China's national conditions for all international students on the morning of June 5. This course focused on the Belt and Road Initiative. The course was delivered by Chen Wei, Secretary of the CPC branch of the College, with all international students participating in the learning session.

To promote traditional Chinese culture and allow international students to experience the unique charm and profound cultural heritage of the Dragon Boat Festival up close, the College of International Education organized a Dragon Boat Festival cultural experience activity on the afternoon of June 2. International students from different countries gathered together to immerse themselves in Dragon Boat Festival customs through various activities—tasting festival flavors, making traditional handicrafts, and designing creative cultural products—discovering Chinese romance amid laughter and joy, and appreciating the unique appeal of traditional Chinese culture.

To further strengthen examination discipline and reinforce international students' awareness of taking exams with integrity, while also regulating daily academic conduct and fostering a positive and progressive academic atmosphere, the College of International Education organized a pre-exam integrity education class meeting for all international students on the afternoon of May 28 at Lecture Hall 130, Fengxian Campus. The class meeting provided international students with systematic and practical guidance covering multiple areas, including final examination discipline, procedures for applying for deferred exams, exam preparation considerations, classroom conduct norms, attendance management regulations, and daily administrative procedures.

To enrich the campus cultural life of international students, build a bridge for cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world, and allow international students to experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture up close, the College of International Education organized a calligraphy experience activity on the afternoon of May 26. This unique brush-and-ink experience sparked international students' strong interest and enthusiasm for exploring Chinese calligraphy culture, while also providing them with a platform to experience China and feel connected to it.

Coinciding with the China Tourism Day of May 19th, in order to break down classroom boundaries and deepen cultural dissemination, the College of International Education at Shanghai Business School (SBS), in collaboration with the Xuhui District Cultural Tourism Service and Development Center, organized an immersive city walk study tour for international students. The tour allowed them to step out of the campus, walk along the riverside and through century-old streets and lanes, personally experience the vibrant and diverse urban pulse of Shanghai, and immersively appreciate the gentle, profound, and inclusive unique character of Shanghai style.

To thoroughly implement the national strategy on building a strong workforce, effectively serve the high-quality employment needs of international students studying in China, and help international talent deeply integrate into China's development landscape, the College of International Education organized its international students to attend the 2026 (2nd) Shanghai High-Level International Talents Exchange Conference & HSK Study in China and Career Expo on May 10. This event created a precise matchmaking platform between international students and renowned companies, effectively opening up the conversion pathway from "study to employment" and helping international students realize their career aspirations in China.

To enrich the extracurricular cultural life of international students, build a bridge for cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world, deepen the connotation of the "Silk Road Business Venture" brand, and allow international students to experience the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture up close, the College of International Education successfully hosted a "Painting Ancient Rhymes on Masks, Nourishing Hearts with Culture" Peking Opera mask painting event for international students on the afternoon of April 14. International students from Russia, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, and several other countries gathered together. Through brushes and colors, they touched the essence of Peking Opera culture, immersed themselves in the charm of traditional Chinese art, and used cultural exchange as a bond to help the "Silk Road Business Venture" brand showcase the power of Chinese cultural heritage.

To enrich the extracurricular life of international students, build a bridge for cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world, and help international students to experience the spirit of sports culture through athletics, the College of International Education organized a volleyball experience event for international students on Tuesday afternoon, March 31. International students from different countries and regions gathered at the school's indoor gymnasium, where they enjoyed the fun of volleyball amid laughter and cheers, strengthened their friendships, and experienced the spirit of Chinese volleyball.

On March 24, 2026, to establish a platform for in-depth exchange between Chinese and international students, comprehensively enhance the innovative thinking and practical abilities of international students, and assist them in understanding the local market while unlocking their entrepreneurial and creative potential, the International Education College meticulously planned and organized this Entrepreneurial Thinking Workshop for International Students. The workshop focused on the core areas of self-media operation, content creation, and brand marketing. Through engaging, hands-on interactive sessions, it enabled Chinese and international students to spark ideas through collaboration, enhance their skills through practice, and achieve the simultaneous advancement of cross-cultural communication and comprehensive capabilities.

On March 17, the International Culture & Chinese Language Salon was hosted by the International Education College. Themed around Chinese short dramas, the event served as a catalyst for integrating language learning with cultural exchange, providing international students from around the world with a relaxed yet effective platform for Chinese language study and interaction. By introducing an innovative teaching format that moves beyond traditional models, the salon engaged participants in activities such as plot analysis, line recitation, and the sharing of viewing insights. Through this immersive experience, students were able to appreciate the charm of the Chinese language, gain exposure to contemporary Chinese culture, and simultaneously enhance their language application skills and cultural understanding.

To fully implement the fundamental task of “fostering virtue through education”, promote the deep integration of international students into the development process of Chinese modernization, and tell the stories of China, Shanghai, and Xuhui well, on December 12, 2025, the International Education College of Shanghai Business School organized outstanding international student representatives from countries along the “Belt and Road” to participate in the city exploration activity “Perceiving Xuhui · West Bund Art Walk”, hosted by the Xuhui District Culture, Tourism Service and Development Center. This activity is a significant practice in deepening the development of the “Business Charm, Silk Road” international student brand. It also serves as a vivid embodiment of promoting international youth cultural exchange, enhancing mutual understanding, and serving the national strategy of opening-up.
