On the morning of October 26, 2022 (GMT+8), the closing ceremony for "Seminar on Economic and Commercial Cooperation for the Dominican Republic " hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was held online. Chen Wei, executive vice dean of International Education College of our university and Prof. Chen Xiaojing, expert representative from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics attended the closing ceremony and delivered speeches.
China has persisted in opening up to the outside world for many years and has continued friendly cooperation with developing countries, including the Dominican Republic, to achieve common development.Dominica is China's second largest export destination in the Caribbean, and China is Dominica's second largest source of imports in the world.Through holding the Seminar, our university shares China's successful experience in economic and trade cooperation and helps to improve Dominican's independent development capability and cooperative level.
Chen Wei said that this seminar is an exchange and exploration of economic and trade cooperation between China and the Dominican Republic, and it is also a vivid case of China promoting international development cooperation and practicing the development concept of building a community of human destiny.It is believed that with the deepening of economic and trade cooperation between China and Dominica, the two countries will make more positive contributions to international economic and trade development and achieve greater mutual benefits and win-win results.
Chen Xiaojing said that the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed that China should further promote high-level opening to the outside world, steadily expand the opening of rules, regulations, management, standards and other systems, accelerate the building of a strong trade country, create a market-oriented, rule-of-law and internationalized first-class business environment, promote the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road" initiative, orderly promote the internationalization of the RMB, deeply participate in the global industrial division and cooperation, and maintain a diversified and stable international economic pattern and economic and trade relations.She believes that the Dominican Republic and China will have more economic and trade cooperation and exchanges in the future, and the friendship will last forever.
The seminar was approved by all participants. Ms. Yamel Feliz, Director of Planning and Development from the Ministry of Youth of Dominica, said that the Seminar was very successful, which facilitated participants to have better understanding of China's good economic and trade policies and practices. China not only continues to improve Chinese people's livelihood and enhance the well-being of the Chinese people, but also is a builder of world peace and a contributor to global development.
The seminar lasted for 14 days and 55 participants from the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development, the Ministry of Youth, the Center for Industrial Development and Competitiveness and other departments of the Dominican Republic attended.
