Jointly promote the interconnection of education and open up a new realm of international cooperation and win-win situation ——The “Belt and Road” China-Russia Management Discipline Professional Training Summit Forum was successfully held

At 3:00 p.m. on November 18, the College of International Education, the College of Business Administration of our university and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (Presidential Academy) jointly held the Belt and Road” China-Russia Management Discipline Professional Talent Training Summit Forum. Wang Shengqiao, Director of the Research Office, Jiao Yue, Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dai Ying, Vice Dean of the College of International Education, Yin Yanhai, Head of the Logistics Management Department, Gao Zhen, Head of the Business Administration Department , Xie Peihong, Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Pavel Yepgenevich Losov, Dean of the College of Social Sciences of the Presidential Academy, Alexei Dmitry Verbecki, Deputy Dean of the College of Public Policy and Management, Ms. Kusna Ekaterina Igorievna, Head of the International Exchange Office of the College of Social Sciences, and relevant teachers attended the forum, which was chaired by Chen Wei, Vice Dean of the College of International Education.

This forum is our university’s active implementation of the spirit of the Ministry of Education’s document on “Promoting the Joint Construction of the ‘Belt and Road’ Educational Action”, and it is also one of the series of academic exchange activities carried out by our university, “The B&R Initiative and International Development Cooperation”. With the goal of building the B&R academic community, our university actively promotes international exchanges with different countries. The theme of this forum is the training of professional talents in management disciplines between China and Russia. It aims to explore the path of high-level management discipline development, talent training and cooperation exchange under the background of the B&R, and jointly promote the level of discipline construction and professional talent training of both parties. 

Forum offline venue

First, Deputy Dean Jiao Yue introduced the professional characteristics of the College of Business Administration to the Russian side in detail. She elaborated on the teaching staff, discipline construction, talent training, student growth, exchanges and cooperation, etc. Dean Pavel Yepgenevich Losov made an in-depth sharing of the professional characteristics of the College of Social Sciences of the Presidential Academy from the aspects of historical evolution, school-running characteristics, and student training. The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (Presidential Academy) is the only educational institution in Russia directly under the President of the Russian Federation. It is one of the top political and economic colleges in the Russian Federation. Also, it is one of the few business schools in the world that has obtained the three major certifications of AACSB, Equis and AMBA and entered the top 1%.

In the subsequent exchanges, the experts made characteristic introductions and experience sharing from the perspectives of professional construction and personnel training. Deputy Dean Alexei Dmitry Verbecki gave an in-depth sharing on the undergraduate and master training programs of the management major, and Dean Xie Pei Hong introduced the construction of the marketing major of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics with the Digital Marketing Innovation Experimental Class” as an entry point. Director Wang Shengqiao shared the innovation and practice of professional talent training in first-class disciplines of business administration from the perspectives of professional construction, teaching staff, talent training and academic research. Professor Yin Yanhai introduced the construction of the logistics management major, including professional orientation, teaching staff, courses and teaching materials, school-enterprise cooperation, and employment. The introduction of the four experts enhanced the understanding of China and Russia in their respective fields of discipline construction, and laid a solid foundation for the follow-up in-depth cooperation.

The final agenda of the forum focused on teaching and academic exchanges, mutual visits between teachers and students, mutual recognition of credits, and cooperative training. After the discussion between the two parties, Vice Dean Chen Wei further clarified the cooperation intentions and he pointed out that they should be based on people-to-people bonds and talent cultivation to achieve common development. Around the cooperation intentions, short-term, medium-term and long-term goals can be set. For example, short-term cooperation can be carried out in terms of summer exchange programs, teacher research exchanges, and joint academic forums. For medium-term cooperation, mutual recognition of credits and mutual visits of students during the semester and year can be considered. For long-term cooperation, cooperation in running schools and joint training of undergraduate students can be considered.It is hoped that this forum will be an opportunity for Chinese and Russian universities to realize cooperative education. Through the establishment of communication channels, the interconnection of education between the two universities will be strengthened, the cooperation mechanism will be jointly established, and a model of Sino-Russian educational cooperation and exchanges will be created. The leaders and experts of both sides agreed that based on the good and positive cooperation intention of both parties, according to different cooperation methods and time nodes, they will promote the implementation of various cooperation and exchange projects as soon as possible.

If you want to walk far, walk together. International cooperation and exchange in education is the main way to promote the joint construction of the B&R education community. The successful holding of this forum is to use the platform of cooperation and exchange to expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, strengthen interconnection, help to promote the mutual connection with the training and development planning of professional talents in high-level colleges and universities, and lay a solid foundation for the cultivation of high-quality management professionals. At the same time, it closely follows the requirements of the universitys internationalization” development, continuously expands the universitys international influence, learns from advanced educational experience with first-class universities, shares high-quality educational resources, promotes the accelerated development of the universitys internationalization, and opens up a new realm of international cooperation and win-win situation.
