SBS Leaders Visited the International Cooperation Division, the International Education College and the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) for Investigation and Guided the Work

On March 22nd , Mr. Wu Zhong, President and Deputy Party Secretary of SBS, went to the International Cooperation Division, the International Education College and the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) for investigation and guided the work. The meeting was attended by Xu Yingying (Director of President’s Office and the Party Committee Office), Liu Bin (Director of the International Cooperation Division), Chen Wei (Executive Vice Dean of International Education College and MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai)) and Dai Ying (Vice Dean of International Education College) and other related staff. The meeting was presided over by Xu Yingying.

Director Liu Bin introduced the general situation of the International Cooperation Division, summarized SBS’ major work and achievements in seven areas including the internationalization of the institution, platform, education, scientific research, faculty members and curriculum, reported the annual work and constructive measures of the Division upon integrating the opening up of education in the new era and the realistic demands for international exchanges and cooperation, and detailed the development and main tasks of Shanghai Institute for Business Development and the Institute for Shanghai Business Culture Studies. 

Vice Dean Chen Wei talked about the work progresses ever since the College and the Training Base were merged, including the architecture of the college, the education system, the cultivation of international students and the training of international business officials. Based on the 14th Five-Year Plan and the development facts of the College, he further explained the goals and specific measures in the cultivation of international students and the training of international business officials. He believes that the College will be closely aligned with SBS’ international orientation, further equip itself with the international trait, better serve the society, and make new progress in internationalization.
President Wu Zhong listened to the reports carefully, discussed with the attendees, and proposed the requirements on how to better serve SBS’ internalization strategy and overall development, specifically as follow. First, promote high-level international professional certifications, and make further breakthroughs in the international certifications of administrative management, talent cultivation, scientific research and social services. Second, pay close attention to fostering talents who are qualified for working in international organizations, actively plan and participate in relevant training programs, build up exchange and communication platforms to promote the internships and employment of excellent students in international organizations. Third, select cooperative colleges and universities, highlight the characteristics of SBS in cooperation,  and continuously increase the breadth and depth of SBS internationalization. Fourth, adhere to the principle of “going global and bringing in”, stably expand the enrollment of high-quality international students, and comprehensively advance the education of international students in China. Fifth, strengthen political positioning, diversify the foreign-aid training programs, follow up the development of international students, expand the circle of friends, and better serve the national strategy of the Belt and Road Initiative.
