On the afternoon of September 19th, in order to improve the law consciousness and safety literacy of international students and create a safe and healthy study and living environment, the College of International Education organized all international students to carry out the lecture on safety education in Fengpu Campus. Yang Xiaowei, sheriff of Fengpu Police Station of Fengxian Branch of Shanghai Public Security Bureau was invited as the keynote speaker. The lecture was presided over by Dai Ying, the executive vice dean of the College of International Education.
First of all, the executive vice dean, Dai Ying gave a brief introduction to the education of international students in the new semester, made clear the norms of international students' study and life in school, and emphasized safety precautions during their study in China and Shanghai.
Subsequently, officer Yang introduced the safety issues that international students should pay attention to during their stay in China from three aspects. First, beware of telecom fraud. He introduced different types of telecom fraud and corresponding prevention methods. He stressed that in daily life, we must keep high vigilance and skepticism about strange phone calls, messages or network information. And it is suggested that international students should pay attention and judge the authenticity and credibility of information and avoid disclosing personal information and account passwords at will.
In addition, he also reminded international students to update security software in their devices regularly and maintain good network security habits, such as not clicking strange links or downloading suspicious files easily, and conducting multi-party verification when it comes to network transfer and remittance. Second, road traffic safety. He particularly emphasized that those who have electric vehicles must master the relevant knowledge and precautions in driving, including driver's license requirements, speed limits, traffic light signal compliance and so on. He reminded international students to legally register and use electric vehicles on the road, and ensure the legality of vehicles and the integrity of various safety devices. He emphasized that obeying traffic rules is not only for personal safety, but also for maintaining the whole traffic order and public interests. Third, overseas accommodation registration. He introduced in detail the importance of accommodation registration for overseas personnel and the corresponding registration channels. He reminded students that according to relevant laws and regulations, overseas personnel must complete accommodation registration within 24 hours from the date of check-in. Delay or failure to fulfill the obligation of residence registration may lead to legal liability and inconvenience.
In this lecture on safety education for international students, officer Yang discussed about important issues such as telecom fraud, traffic safety and accommodation registration for overseas personnel. Through these, it is expected that every international student can enhance his awareness of self-protection, improve his ability of safety precautions and build a strong legal "safety net" in his mind. The College of International Education will continue to provide all-round safety education and support to ensure that international students can study and grow in a safe and stable campus environment.
