On September 25th, the closing ceremony of Séminaire sur le Renforcement des Capacités de Sécurité maritime pour la Tunisie sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) in Shanghai Business School, commenced with resounding success. Chen Wei, executive vice dean of College of International Education of Shanghai Business School, and deputy director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) attended the ceremony, and Feng Shujun, the chief expert and researcher of the Think Tank Center of Shanghai Business School presided over.
When President Xi Jinping met with the heads of foreign delegations invited to attend the 70th anniversary of the Chinese PLA navy, he put forward the important concept of " maritime community with a shared future ". President Xi pointed out that "the blue planet where we humans live is not divided into isolated islands by the ocean, but is connected into a community with shared destiny, and people of all countries stick together through thick and thin." This seminar is dedicated to sharing China's experience in maritime security capacity building, strengthening China-Tunisia maritime security and cooperation, and promoting the construction of a " maritime community with a shared future".
Chen Wei stressed that coping with the growing maritime security threats requires a global response. We should pay attention to the concept of " maritime community with a shared future", continuously strengthen real international cooperation in maritime security, promote the construction of " maritime community with a shared future", and strive to achieve sustainable development of the ocean. China and Tunisia have friendly relations, and China has continuously promoted mutually beneficial cooperation with Tunisia in various maritime fields, sharing ideas, technologies and experiences, and working together to safeguard the ocean and peace.
This seminar has also received positive feedback from participants. On behalf of all participants, Senior Colonel Muhammad Toomi of the Border Guard of Tunisian National Guard expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the rich content and professional training courses of the seminar. He said that this seminar offered everyone a deeper understanding of China's measures and strategies to strengthen maritime security and promote economic growth. Tumi emphasized that advanced maritime surveillance technology, response to marine pollution, the development prospects of maritime safety systems, and the trend of maritime safety cooperation between China and Tunisia require much attention. The Tunisian delegation will strive to implement the experience learned from this seminar to enhance maritime security, and looks forward to further cooperation with China in maritime security.
This seminar lasts for 21 days, with 20 participants from the General Directorate of Operations of the Ministry of Interior of Tunisia, the Tunisian National Guard and the Tunisian National Defense Guard.
