First of all, Dai Ying, the Executive Vice Dean of the College of International Education, made a report on the recent work of international students from several aspects, such as teaching and academic affairs, student management, enrollment. The specific activities are as follows: completing the make-up examination of Chinese language courses, implementing elective and retaken courses in the new semester, applying for 2024 school-level demonstrative English-teaching courses, giving lectures on admission and safety education for freshmen, organizing the Sport Games, One-Day tour in Shanghai and Chinese Salon Activities.

Ms. Dai then particularly provided some tips for the next stage of work. Deans in charge of international student affairs in secondary colleges put forward relevant opinions and suggestions from the aspects of the framework of thesis, allocation of thesis instructors, duties for class supervisors, and arrangement of internship units for international students. After a thorough discussion, Vice Executive Dean Chen Wei made a brief summary: firstly, it is recommended to unify the framework of thesis. Secondly, the progress of the capstone presentation and mid-term presentation needs to be arranged accordingly. In addition, it is suggested to coordinate the allocation of thesis instructors at a school level, or hire highly qualified experts from other schools to assist. As for the challenges of internship arrangement for international students, many solutions are advised, such as establishing internal practice bases and actively contacting external cooperation institutions. Finally, in response to the current issues of low teaching quality and weak discipline among international students, Mr. Chen suggests strengthening ideological education, and organizing diverse activities for international students to fill their spare time effectively. Besides, in order to further standardize their behavior and ideological education, student education must be strengthened in areas of fraud prevention, safety, enrollment, discipline, and personal health.
