International Students at the Lecture Site

Firstly, Vice Dean Dai Ying outlined the importance of this lecture, emphasizing its goal to enhance international students’ comprehension of traffic safety, nurture positive traffic safety awareness and habits, and ultimately safeguard their well-being. Given that traffic safety impacts the lives and health of all individuals, it is imperative for international students to elevate their safety consciousness in their daily routines.

Vice Dean Dai Ying Emphasized the Importance of the Safety Lecture

The lecture was presented by Liu Wenjun, Deputy Chief of the First Detachment of Fengxian Traffic Police Division. Officer Liu systematically explained the identification and application of road traffic signals, emphasized the key role of obeying traffic signals in avoiding traffic accidents, and elaborated on the rules for pedestrians and vehicles under different signal states through examples. Based on detailed data and shocking cases, he analyzed motorcycle or battery scooter-involved typical traffic accidents, cautioning teachers and students to remain vigilant of the safety risks associated with these vehicles. Besides, he promoted safe riding practices, emphasizing the use of safety helmets and prudent risk management. In addition, he introduced safety knowledge related to driving motor vehicles, including but not limited to safe driving norms, emergency response measures and psychological quality cultivation of drivers, and encouraged international students to adopt a responsible and cautious driving style that adheres to traffic laws and promotes safety.

Chief Liu Wenjun Shared Knowledge about Traffic Safety

At the end of the lecture, two traffic policewomen from the Division demonstrated the standard and powerful traffic command gestures, which won the applause of the teachers and students present. Several students enthusiastically went on stage to learn traffic gestures under their guidance, which successfully integrated serious traffic safety knowledge into lively teaching practice.

International Students Learning Traffic Guidance Gestures

The lecture raised the traffic safety awareness of international students and made them realize that “life is precious” and they need to “abide by the law”. The cooperation between the College of International Education and the First Detachment of Fengxian Traffic Police Division fully embodies the determination and action of social forces and educational units to maintain public safety, and realizes the concept of synergistic development of school and social education. It also lays a solid foundation for building a harmonious and safe campus traffic environment.
