On October 29, 2024, the College of International Education of Shanghai Business School successfully held its first International Cultural Exchange Event. The event set up 12 foreign cultural exhibition booths, attracting over 800 Chinese and foreign students to participate. Through a series of cultural exhibitions and interactive activities, it enabled the students to understand and experience cultures from around the world, and promoted the exchange and integration of diverse cultures. The activities can be divided into cultural performances and cultural entertainment corridor, with rich and diverse content as well as novel and unique forms.
In cultural performances, students from all over the world brought wonderful ethnic performances. Mongolian students presented the dance "Biergai" to showcase the enthusiasm and boldness from the grasslands; Russian students gave the song and dance "Unity", interpreting the grandeur and magnificence of Russian culture with large jumps and fast rotations, winning warm applause from the audience on site. Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Chinese students recited the poem "The Moon over the River on a Spring Night" together, with melodious rhythm and profound artistic conception taking the audience into a poetic world.

The cultural entertainment corridor was a major highlight of the event. A total of 12 foreign exhibition booths was set up. There were unique cuisines, handicrafts, and traditional gaming experiences from various countries. Participants could collect a special "Shanghai Business School Passport" at the entrance, complete specific tasks at each country's booth, and receive exclusive seals for that country. They could also use the collected seals to exchange for prizes in the prize exchange area around the College of International Education. The enthusiasm of the students was high, and there was a continuous stream of visitors at each booth. The campus was filled with laughter, joy, and a colorful cultural atmosphere.
Mongolian students warmly invited teachers and other students to experience the traditional game of archery in nomadic culture, as if to lead everyone on a heroic journey on the vast grassland together; Vietnamese students presented betel nut candy and coffee, with a rich and sweet aroma that attracted many students to taste; Bangladeshi students dressed in traditional costumes such as Panjabi and Lungi actively interacted and took photos with the audience. Russia's painted dolls, Cambodia's number writing, Laos' dart throwing, Morocco's walnut wood products... The dazzling array of handicrafts, specialty snacks, and traditional games from various countries showcased different ethnic customs and cultural connotations, attracting students to visit and experience, and step into the colorful world of international culture.
The successful hosting of this event has deepened the friendship between Chinese and foreign students, and injected new vitality into the international-oriented construction of campus culture. In the future, the College of International Education will continue to build more platforms, encourage students to step out of the classroom to broaden their horizons and enhance their cross-culture communication skills, and work hard to cultivate high-quality talents with international perspectives and cultural inclusiveness.
