Seminar on Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Developing Countries and Belt and Road International Youth Talent Training Program Explore New Momentum in the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor

On April 28th, the Seminar on Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Developing Countries and the Belt and Road International Youth Talent Training Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organized by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of Shanghai Business School (SBS), conducted a study tour of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor in the Yangtze River Delta region. Dai Ying, Deputy Director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) at SBS, Man Yuanyuan, Head of the Innovation Cooperation Group at the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor Joint Office, Shen Yaoting, Deputy Mayor of Xinqiao Town, and Zhu Xiaochun, Director of the Investment Promotion Center, attended the event. Forty-one international business officials from 14 countries—Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, the Bahamas, Cabo Verde, Ethiopia, Cyprus, Fiji, the Gambia, Grenada, Iraq, South Africa, South Sudan, Timor-Leste, and Uzbekistan—participated in the activity.

The delegation first visited the Yangtze River Delta G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor Planning Exhibition Hall, where a tour guide provided a comprehensive presentation on the nine-city collaborative development model and learned about Xinqiao Town's experiences as a key node in the G60 corridor. Subsequently, the officials visited flagship enterprises such as the Tsinghua Holdings Human Settlements Industrial Park, gaining in-depth insights into the concentrated industrial development in the fields of building technology and cultural creativity. They engaged in discussions on topics such as the import and export of goods and technology.

After the visit, Man Yuanyuan chaired an industrial promotion and exchange seminar in Xinqiao Town. At the meeting, Deputy Mayor Shen Yaoting and Director Zhu Xiaochun, respectively, showcased Xinqiao Town's industrial advantages in high-end equipment manufacturing, next-generation information technology, and other fields using detailed data and case studies, and extended invitations for cooperation to the officials. Touray Buba, an official from the Gambian Ministry of Youth and Sports, enthusiastically invited Chinese enterprises to invest in African development, receiving positive responses from the attending companies.

This event, which combined on-site visits with in-depth exchanges, not only provided a window for officials from various countries to understand China's technological innovation and industrial development but also showcased the strong momentum of the Yangtze River Delta's integrated development and the vibrant growth of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. Through international industrial cooperation and experience sharing, the event introduced an international perspective and diverse cooperation opportunities to the Yangtze River Delta region, helping the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor further enhance its international influence, accelerate the development of a globally competitive science and technology innovation industrial cluster, inject strong momentum into serving Shanghai's local development strategy and deepening international exchange and cooperation, and contribute positive energy to building an open, inclusive, and collaborative win-win international development landscape.
