Ping Pong Friendship, Cultural Exchange —College of International Education Organizes Ping Pong Experience Activity for International Students

On the afternoon of March 25, 2025, the College of International Education organized a ping pong experience activity for international students themed "Ping Pong Friendship, Cultural Exchange". This immersive sports activity aimed to enhance the students' Chinese communication skills, increase cultural exchange between Chinese and international students, and build a bridge of friendship between them using sports as a connecting thread.

As China's "national ball", table tennis holds special cultural significance. At the event, Chinese students highlighted the historic moment in 1959 when Rong Guotuan achieved China's first-ever victory in the World Table Tennis Championships, vividly illustrating how a small ball could bring great national glory, sparking great interest among the international students. Over 40 Chinese and international students formed "one-on-one" mentoring groups. Chinese students introduced grip techniques, serving skills, and helped international students master basic techniques such as forehand attacks and backhand pushes. This activity is part of the college's cultural and sports program within its broader international student education system. Future activities will include Tai Chi experiences and dragon boat racing experiences, among other traditional cultural and sports projects. Through a three-dimensional and scenario-based cultural immersion, the college continues to deepen international students' understanding and appreciation of China, cultivating more cultural ambassadors who know, befriend, and love China.
