The 2025 graduation ceremony and degree conferral ceremony of Shanghai Business School (SBS) was grandly held in the main venue of Hall 146, Fengpu Campus, and simultaneously streamed online and offline to various branch venues and global live streaming platforms. School Party Secretary Shen Daming, President Wu Zhong, Deputy Party Secretary Chen Xiaofeng, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee Zhang Jie, Vice President Zhang Shaohua, and other members of the school leadership team were all present to guide and witness this momentous occasion. Deans of various schools, heads of functional departments, student representatives, and parent representatives also participated in this grand event, witnessing this solemn moment. Sixty-nine international students from 24 countries around the world joined their domestic counterparts in celebrating this milestone, marking the successful completion of their academic exploration and cross-cultural experiences in the field of business.
At the ceremony, international students wore "cultural T-shirts" representing the traditional attire of their respective countries, with sashes symbolizing the Belt and Road Initiative. Gozali Laurentia, an Indonesian graduate in Finance who secured a job offer from a Chinese company, stated: "Four years of study at SBS not only provided us with knowledge but also made us ambassadors of diverse cultures. We will carry this unique mark of growth and continue to tell China's story on the world stage." Lim Leakhena, a Cambodian graduate in Business Administration, spoke on behalf of the international students. She emotionally recounted their perseverance in online learning during the pandemic and their appreciation for every moment of growth after returning to campus. She expressed her deepest gratitude to her alma mater, teachers, family, and peers, proudly showcasing the resilience and belief of SBS international students. She stated that she would carry the school motto of "integrity, extensive learning, serving the country and the people" and use her cross-cultural perspective and professional skills to contribute to the world. She pledged to continue the legacy of SBS graduates and wished her alma mater continued success and her classmates bright futures.
Ahmed Asif, a Bangladeshi international student majoring in Business Administration, won a school-level outstanding paper award for his research titled "A Study on Consumer Choices in Digital Payment Methods and Their Adoption Drivers in Bangladesh". This research combines big data analysis and field research to propose the applicability and development path of electronic payments in Bangladesh. His supervisor, Associate Professor Zhao Lili of the Business Administration College, commented: "This paper demonstrates a solid academic foundation and sharp business acumen."
“Silk Road Business Venture" is not only SBS brand for international students but also a platform for educational cooperation and an innovative carrier of the new era's "Digital Silk Road". The school will continue to cultivate composite international business talents who are multilingual, technologically proficient, and culturally sensitive. We aim to inject youthful energy into the global economic recovery and cultivate SBS international students to become "cultural engineers" of the new Silk Road.
