Optimize the Enrollment Mechanism to Promote Diversified Selection —The 2025 International Student Enrollment Interview of the College of International Education Carried Out Smoothly

On June 20 and 23, 2025, the College of International Education successfully carried out the 2025 international student enrollment interview. This interview was led by Dai Ying, Vice Dean of the College of International Education, and a diversified team of examiners was set up, composed of professional teachers from the School of Business Administration, the College of Hospitality Management, the College of Business and Economics, the School of Business Information, along with staff from the Office of International Student Affairs.

The total number of international students applying in 2025 exceeds 400, marking a record high and a significant increase compared with the same period in previous years. After a strict qualification examination and screening by the College of International Education, 267 applicants finally entered the interview session. The enrollment interview covers six programs, with a total of 136 international students applying for the three English-taught programs in business administration, hospitality management, and finance, and a total of 93 international students applying for the three Chinese-taught programs in e-commerce, marketing, and retail management.

To thoroughly implement Shanghai Business School's "application-oriented, innovative, and international visions, innovative and international", the College of International Education has optimized and upgraded the enrollment of international students this year. Through a series of measures, such as updating the material review standards, scientifically designing the assessment contents, and enriching the professional interview question bank, the college strives to build a more scientific and standardized enrollment selection mechanism.

Before the official start of the interview, the College of International Education specially organized a training meeting for examiners. Vice Dean Dai Ying, as the chief training officer, explained the interview material review specifications, cross-cultural communication precautions, and structured questioning skills, and gave an on-site interview demonstration. The interview is mainly aimed at comprehensively evaluating applicants' admission eligibility and overall quality based on their language ability, academic potential, career planning, professional knowledge, and impression of China.

The interview was conducted online, simultaneously through Tencent Meeting and Zoom platforms. The College of International Education strictly followed the enrollment norms and effectively ensured the openness, fairness, and impartiality of the interview through measures such as the whole-process video recording and standardized process management, laying a solid foundation for selecting outstanding international students.

Taking the enrollment work as an opportunity, the College of International Education will continue to deepen the reform of the enrollment system, improve the enrollment system of "multi-dimension evaluation and scientific selection," and constantly improve the education quality and management service of international students. In the future, the college will continue to adhere to the concept of "openness, inclusiveness, and pursuit of excellence," attract more outstanding international students to the school for further study, and continue to promote the school's international school-running strategy.
