On Tuesday noon, November 25, 2025, the College of International Education and the College of Business Foreign Languages jointly hosted the “Diverse Ethnic Cultures, A Tapestry of Shared Beauty” Sino-foreign ethnic cultural exchange event. International students from 12 countries including Russia, Mongolia, Nigeria, and Azerbaijan gathered with Chinese teachers and students. The event aimed to provide a platform for international students from around the world and Chinese students from ethnic minorities to show their national or ethnic cultural characteristics, collectively presenting a splendid cultural feast.

At the event, international students enthusiastically presented their national specialties. The Russian duet dance “Kalinka Malinka” radiated warmth and exuberance with its lively rhythm and swirling skirts; the Mongolian “Zhoron Zhoron” dance displayed the bold and robust spirit of the steppe people; the Bangladeshi song “Bengali Music” was melodious and graceful, conveying the unique charm of South Asian culture; the Azerbaijani “Uzundara” dance captivated the audience with its agility and elegance, showcasing the artistic allure of the South Caucasus region. During the ethnic costume fashion show, international students from various countries took to the stage in their distinctive traditional attire, serving as a vivid footnote to the exchange and mutual learning among civilizations.

Among the 28 meticulously arranged Chinese and foreign ethnic booths at the event, both domestic and international booths drew significant attention. The international student booths featured highlights such as the Vietnamese Kinh ethnic booth combining specialty pastry tasting with hands-on craft experiences, allowing teachers and students to touch the cultural fabric of Southeast Asia through practice; the Tajikistan Tajik ethnic booth offering rich-flavored dried fruits and pastries, conveying the unique charm of Central Asian culinary culture; and the Cambodia Khmer ethnic booth displaying distinctive sculptures and traditional fabrics, sketching the civilizational imprint of the Indochina Peninsula through exquisite craftsmanship. International students from various countries enthusiastically introduced their cultures to the faculty and students, creating a warm and lively atmosphere filled with laughter.

This Sino-foreign ethnic cultural exchange event was jointly organized by College of International Education and the College of Business Foreign Languages of SBS. The event not only vividly embodied the spirit of the “Belt and Road” Initiative but also provided a platform for in-depth exchange among students from different countries.
