To thoroughly implement the national strategy on building a strong workforce, effectively serve the high-quality employment needs of international students studying in China, and help international talent deeply integrate into China's development landscape, the College of International Education organized its international students to attend the 2026 (2nd) Shanghai High-Level International Talents Exchange Conference & HSK Study in China and Career Expo on May 10. This event created a precise matchmaking platform between international students and renowned companies, effectively opening up the conversion pathway from "study to employment" and helping international students realize their career aspirations in China.

The expo featured diverse formats and rich content, integrating study and career exhibitions, dedicated company promotional sessions, career development consulting, talent policy briefings, and industry trend analysis. The event brought together nearly 50 top Chinese companies and multinational organizations, including Tencent, JD.com, Trip.com Group, Xiaomi, Bank of China, and YTO International. These companies spanned multiple high-demand sectors such as intelligent manufacturing, finance and economics, biomedicine, culture and education, foreign trade services, and cultural tourism, providing high-quality job opportunities for international talent and building a broad space for career development.

Led by college staff, the international students actively navigated between the various company booths, engaging in face-to-face conversations with corporate representatives and learning in detail about job requirements, career development prospects, and key information such as work visa policies in China. Information sessions from hiring companies drew the attention of the international students, who carefully took notes on key points and eagerly asked questions, demonstrating the excellent spirit and professional competence of Shanghai Business School’s international students.

The international students who participated in the event expressed that the fair provided them with a valuable opportunity. Fofana Alhassane, an international student from Guinea majoring in International Economics and Trade, said: "I am very grateful to the university for organizing our participation in this event, allowing us to communicate directly with major companies like JD.com and Bank of China. I am very interested in positions in the international trade industry. Today, I gained a lot of interview skills and employment information, and I feel more confident about my future development in China."

The College of International Education has always placed great emphasis on the cultivation of international students, adhering to the educational philosophy of "building an application-oriented business school", and integrating cross-cultural competence development with career guidance throughout the entire educational process. Through a series of activities such as corporate visits and career development seminars, the College continuously expands channels for university-industry collaboration, striving to build a seamless bridge from campus to the workplace for international students.

Participation in this career expo represents one of the College's important initiatives to fulfill the fundamental task of "fostering virtue and nurturing talent" and to advance the cultivation of internationally oriented talent. Looking ahead, the College will continue to deepen its international student development system, strengthen the mechanism for collaborative university-industry education, and help more international students establish themselves in China, achieve their dreams, and become friendly ambassadors for cultural exchange and economic cooperation between China and other countries.
