Yi Zhengyu, Executive President and Secretary General of the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Industry Association, noted in her speech that Shanghai is a hub of innovation for China's biomedicine and medical device industries. The National Level High-Skilled Talent Training Base has long focused on skills training in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, accumulating mature experience in equipment operation, calibration and maintenance, quality control, and digital applications. It serves as an important platform for serving industrial development and international cooperation. As global medical equipment undergoes digital, intelligent, and precision upgrades, skilled technical talent and the sharing of technical expertise have become key to enhancing medical service capacity. China-Africa medical cooperation is evolving from traditional product trade toward multiple directions, including technical cooperation, talent cultivation, industrial collaboration, and capacity building. This visit serves as an important bridge for enhancing mutual trust and promoting cooperation.

Chen Li, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Industry Association, delivered a presentation on the theme of "Cultivating High-Skilled Talent to Empower the Development of Healthcare and the Pharmaceutical Industry". She systematically introduced the talent challenges facing global health systems and China's approach to talent development, then showcased China's distinctive training model, supported by government policies, that aligns the education chain, talent chain, and industrial chain for coordinated development. Pharmaceutical lifecycle management and medical device application services, as the Association's two key training focus areas, are designed to address pharmaceutical safety assurance and the enhancement of medical service capacity respectively, jointly serving the development of the healthcare system and meeting the health needs of the people.

Following the presentation, the seminar participants toured the practical training areas, including the injection production line, capsule area, solid preparation area, tablet area, and coating area, gaining a hands-on understanding of pharmaceutical production processes and equipment application standards. The participants expressed strong recognition of the Practical Training Center's practices in standardizing the cultivation of skilled talent. Uwineza Peruth, as leader of the delegation, posed questions on behalf of all participants. She noted that all members of the seminar come from medical-related institutions in Rwanda, and they were very interested in who the primary beneficiaries of the High-Skilled Talent Training Base Practical Training Center are, what specific training content is offered, and whether foreign technicians have the opportunity to participate in the training. Staff at the Practical Training Center provided a detailed introduction to the Center's talent training qualifications and plans from a national policy perspective, and sincerely invited the participants to come and study. The Rwandan side expressed their hope to become the first group of international students to study at the Center in the future. The on-site exchange was lively and the atmosphere cordial.
