The 47th lecture of SBS Forum "Introduction to Philippine Tourism: Policy, Management and Recovery" was successfully held

On the evening of October 29, Beijing time, the 47th lecture of SBS Forum hosted by Scientific Research Office of our university, co-organized by College of Hotel Management and MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was successfully held. Mr. Edwin Ragos Enrile, guest professor of our university and Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Philippines, gave a lecture on the topic of "Introduction to Philippine Tourism: Policy, Management and Recovery".The forum was conducted both online and offline,and has the main venue in Xuhui Campus and the branch venue in Fengxian Campus.Vice President He Ying, Dean Jiang Hong and Vice Dean Fu Quansheng of the College of Hotel Management, Vice Dean Chen Wei and Vice Dean Dai Ying of the College of International Education, Xi Yubin from the College of Shanghai Lausanne Hospitality Management, representatives of teachers and students from the College of Hotel Management, and representatives of international students attended the forum.

In the opening speech, Vice President He Ying pointed out that Mr. Enrile had held important positions in various ministries and commissions in the Philippines, and he had rich practical experience and profound professionalism in the field of tourism management. He was deeply involved in the planning and Management and made outstanding contributions in this field. She hopes that with the help of the lecture, SBS can work hand in hand with the Ministry of Tourism of the Philippines to reach more consensus in the fields of education, training, technology sharing, etc., continuing to deepen the exchanges and jointly writing a new chapter in the cooperation between the two sides.

Minister Enrile’s lecture covered three main topics. The first was an overview of the Philippines and the country’s tourism industry. He shared the situation about the Philippines and the people of the Philippines, domestic tourists and the contribution of tourism to the economy. In the second part, through tourist destinations and souvenirs, he demonstrated the cloud trip to the Philippines and shared the Tourism Planning Case of Boracay. In the third part, with the global impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Philippines slowly reopened its tourism industry to achieve economic recovery. Minister Enrile shared the Philippine government's tourism development plan and strategy in the post-epidemic era.

In the question and exchange session, teachers and students were enthusiastic and actively asked questions online and offline. Minister Enrile listened carefully, combined with his own practical experience, and gave answers to the guests' doubts about the tourism sector in the Philippines.

Minister Enrile participated in the "Seminar on Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Management for the Philippines" implemented by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of our university in 2019 and he fully affirmed our training work.
