On May 12th, a joint graduation ceremony was held for two seminars: the Seminar on Engineering Project Management for Developing Countries and the Seminar on Construction and Management of Development Zone for Sri Lanka. Both seminars were sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and hosted by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) at Shanghai Business School (SBS). Liu Bin, Dean of the College of International Education and Director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
Liu Bin stated that China has developed globally leading systematic experience in the field of engineering construction and management. Through innovative models such as standardized design, modular construction, and digital management, China has created a number of benchmark projects with international influence. In the field of development zone construction and development, China has explored for over 40 years, forming a distinctive development model centered on institutional innovation, based on industrial agglomeration, and driven by open cooperation. This model has become a key vehicle for reform and opening up and an important engine for economic growth. He expressed hope that the participants would help promote the continuous development of friendly cooperative relations between China and developing countries, becoming friendly envoys who convey friendship and promote cooperation.
The two seminars received positive feedback from the participants. Mr. Mustapha Darboe, Chief Engineer of the Gambian Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, stated in his speech that through detailed lectures, insightful in-depth discussions, and practical case studies, the participants further deepened their understanding of the core theme of project management. The knowledge gained in China will be transformed into practical tools, exhibiting new vitality in localized practical applications.
