On Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2025, the College of International Education held a Chinese salon themed on AI technological innovation. Through keynote speeches, technology demonstrations, and interactive discussions, the event delved into the innovative achievements in China's artificial intelligence field, focusing on the rise and global impact of the local AI company DeepSeek.
At the beginning of the event, a Chinese student representative, using DeepSeek's latest generation model, DeepSeek 7.0, as a starting point, highlighted the "AI + Culture" functions relevant to the international students' learning and life. International students can use AI technology to learn Chinese, practice common phrases, expand sentences using phrases, address pronunciation concerns, and understand the stories and meanings behind Chinese words and sentences. In addition, the presentation introduced Chinese AI software such as Doubao and ERNIE Bot, showcasing their technological innovations and global impact in the field of artificial intelligence, and discussed the rapid development of China's AI industry and its impact on the global technological landscape.
This Chinese salon not only showcased the power of China's AI technology but also highlighted its unique role in the soft power output of Chinese culture. The future of AI is the fusion of diverse cultures. Technology can break down language barriers, making intercultural dialogue more equitable and in-depth. The College of International Education will continue to focus on the "technology + culture" event format, building a technological bridge for international students to understand China and connect with the world, and jointly write a new chapter of cultural exchange in the age of artificial intelligence.
