Malaysia Civil Aviation Operations Management Seminar Successfully Commenced

        On the morning of November 4th, the opening ceremony of the Malaysia Civil Aviation Operations Management Seminar, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of SBS, was successfully held. Zhou Jihong, Deputy Secretary of the Direct Party Branch of the College of International Education, Jiang Zhen, Director of the Southeast Asia Office from the Marketing Department of COMAC, and Peng Yingjie, Senior Manager of the Strategy and Management Innovation Department from the Marketing Department of COMAC, attended the ceremony.

        As the global civil aviation industry gradually moves towards a new phase of recovery and high-quality development, China and Malaysia, as key players in the Asia-Pacific civil aviation sector, both shoulder the important mission of improving aviation networks, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting industrial upgrading. The successful launch of this seminar represents one of the important measures to deepen practical cooperation in the civil aviation field between China and Malaysia. It aims to establish a high-quality platform for exchange and mutual learning between the two countries’ civil aviation industries, share advanced operations management experience, enhance mutual understanding and trust within the industry, help improve the core competitiveness of Malaysia’s civil aviation sector, promote the synergistic development of the China-Malaysia civil aviation industry, and inject lasting momentum into the improvement of the regional air transport system and economic prosperity.

        In her address, Zhou Jihong noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia in 1974, bilateral ties have continuously deepened, upgrading to a high-level strategic partnership in 2025, with political mutual trust being steadily strengthened. This seminar provides a valuable opportunity for learning, exchange, and cooperation for professionals in the civil aviation fields of both China and Malaysia. It is conducive to sharing advanced experiences, jointly addressing industry challenges, and promoting the innovation and upgrading of technologies and concepts in civil aviation operations management in both countries.

        Peng Yingjie stated that after 17 years of relentless dedication, COMAC has initially established a comprehensive product portfolio covering regional jets, short-to-medium-range narrow-body airliners, and medium-to-long-range wide-body airliners, offering diversified Chinese solutions to the global civil aviation market. Malaysia, as an aviation hub connecting the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe, and Australia-New Zealand markets, is a vibrant and highly potential important market. He looked forward to exchanges and sharing with fellow aviation professionals and expressed his hope that this seminar would build a bridge of friendship between China and Malaysia, laying a friendly foundation for potential future cooperation.

The participant representative, Mr. Ahmad, Manager from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, expressed that this seminar is committed to helping Malaysia improve the operational efficiency, safety management, and performance optimization of its aviation system. He stated that this seminar would serve as an important platform for advancing the latest developments in sustainable operations and hoped that the two-week exchange and study would yield significant practical outcomes.

This seminar is the third program jointly organized by our university and COMAC this year. COMAC has provided strong support in areas such as lecturer recommendations and field visit arrangements. The seminar has 23 participants from departments including the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, the Ministry of Transport, and aerospace industry companies. The program includes arrangements for the participants to conduct a study visit to Chengdu City, Sichuan Province.
