On the morning of March 18, Kristina Carrizosa, Program Coordinator of the Global Academic Pathway Program (GAPP) at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis), visited our university and was warmly received by Liu Bin, Dean of the College of International Education. During her visit, Ms. Carrizosa toured the Caobao Road Campus, where she conducted an on-site inspection of the campus’s teaching facilities and educational environment, gaining detailed insight into the university’s teaching resources and distinctive approach to talent development. Subsequently, the two parties convened a symposium centered on key topics such as international education cooperation and academic pathway programs, jointly exploring new avenues for collaboration.

During the symposium, Liu Bin, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to Ms. Carrizosa and highlighted the university’s educational positioning, disciplinary strengths, and current landscape of international education. She noted that the university consistently places great emphasis on international education cooperation and actively seeks to establish diverse platforms for international exchange. She expressed the hope that through collaboration with UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE), the university would be able to expand pathways for student advancement and enhance the quality of its international education programs.
Ms. Carrizosa commended the university for its hospitality and educational achievements and provided a detailed overview of the strengths, disciplinary features, and core advantages of UC Davis CPE and the GAPP program. As a leading institution within the “Public Ivy” network, UC Davis CPE has a strong legacy in the field of international education. The GAPP program, designed specifically for international students, offers systematic academic support, language enhancement, and cultural adaptation guidance to facilitate students’ seamless transition to the American academic system and lay a solid foundation for their subsequent admission to UC Davis and other top-tier universities. Ms. Carrizosa expressed her hope for the establishment of a long-term and stable partnership with our university, enabling mutual complementarity and sharing of educational resources.

At present, our university is actively exploring innovative models for international education and continuously expanding avenues for external cooperation. The visit of Ms. Carrizosa has established an effective communication channel between our university and UC Davis, clarifying the direction for bilateral collaboration. Moving forward, the two parties will leverage the GAPP program as a starting point to deepen cooperation in areas such as student academic pathway articulation and faculty exchange, thereby contributing to the steady advancement of international education at our university.
