On the afternoon of June 11, our college organized the activity " The Fragrance Of Zongzi From Far Beyond Makes Our Friendship Forever Bond" together with Shanghai Science and Technology Translation Society（SSTTS） and Liaokun Community Residential Committee of Yangpu District, international students from our college participated in this Dragon Boat Festival Cultural Meetup Activity.
First of all, Mr. Ruan Junbin, Deputy General Secretary of SSTTS, introduced the origin, occurrence and development of Dragon Boat Festival to international students. As one of the four traditional Chinese festivals, the origin of Dragon Boat Festival contains profound cultural connotations. Later, international students learned methods and skills of making Zongzi with the help of Ms. Chen Yujun from Liaokun community. After more than an hour of practice, Aden Ali from Somalia, Johnny from Tajikistan, Alina Plotnikova from Russia and other students quickly learned the skills, and they also experienced the interest from traditional Chinese culture. They said“Making Zongzi brings us happiness. The zongzi is delicious. We spent a meaningful Dragon Boat Festival in Shanghai!”

The activity allowed the international students to experience the atmosphere of traditional Chinese festival and the essence and characteristics of traditional Chinese culture, and enrich their lives in China.
