In order to promote the high-quality development of the university's international education, enhance the rational allocation of human resources and the adaptability of positions, improve the overall work of the College, and promote the overall improvement of the education of international students and the training of international business officials, the college launched the first round of position competition for all staff. The position competition was officially launched in mid-March, and the whole process was carried out with the principle of "setting posts on demand, having both ability and integrity, openness and transparency, fairness and justice". In order to better complete the first round of the college's position competition, the college set up a position competition working group, consisting of Chen Min, Secretary of the Joint General Party branch of the College of Advanced Technology and the College of Continuing Education, Chen Wei, Executive Vice Dean of the College, and Dai Ying, Vice Dean of the College.
The position competition was carried out in two stages: the department's main and deputy positions, and the general positions, which covers multiple links such as mobilization and deployment, open registration, qualification review, speech defense, comprehensive evaluation, and deliberation and publicity. Due to the epidemic quarantine, the competition was fully transferred from offline to online. All college staff were actively participated and made wonderful speeches on the positions they competed for in terms of competitive advantages, knowledge of the positions and future work ideas, realizing the real competition for strength. After the first stage, the leadership team of the College carried out a one-to-one pre-appointment conversation with each middle-level cadre, asking them to put morality first, improve their position, take the initiative and take the lead, set an example, actively study, pioneer and innovate, be diligent and pragmatic, and improve their level.
On the afternoon of April 6, the College held a all staff meeting, and announced the results. The position competition is an exploration and attempt of the College in the personnel system reform. It is also a major measure to expand democracy and improve the cadre system reform. It opens a precedent in the history of cadre selection and appointment in the College. By competing for positions, establishing a "promoted or demoted" system, and assign talents to each position, which will further optimize the structure and quality of the cadre team. At the same time, it also builds a platform for fair competition for staff who really want to and can do things.
