On the afternoon of June 15, the first batch of 2022 international students admission interview organized by the College of International Education was successfully held in Xuhui Campus. Chen Wei and Dai Ying, Deputy Deans of the College, led the teams through the Tencent conference platform. Five key teachers from our college and professional teachers from the College of Business Administration and the College of Hotel Management worked in pairs as the interview admission examiners. The admission qualification and comprehensive quality of foreign students are assessed from the perspectives of language ability, learning attitude, personal ability, professionalism and impression of China. A total of 71 international students from 32 countries participated in the interview. The entire process is videotaped to ensure openness and fairness.
In order to focus on the characteristics of "application-oriented, innovative and international", align with the development goals of the 14th Five-Year Plan of the university, further improve the enrollment of international students, ensure the normal and smooth interview process, and ensure the admission of high-quality and suitable students, the Office of International Students has carefully designed the interview process, content, evaluation method and question bank. In order to better ensure the interview quality, platform stability and online participation of students, an online test was conducted on June 9 to ensure that the interview can be carried out smoothly. On the day of the interview, Vice Dean Dai Ying held an interview work arrangement meeting for all interviewing admission examiners to emphasize the skills and precautions in the process.
The international students who attended the interview came from different countries, and some of the network links were temporarily out of order. Due to the sufficient preparation, the examiners were able to deal with them comfortably and the whole interview ended smoothly. Through the interview, it is expected to recruit high-quality students and promote the interview enrollment of foreign students, so as to start a good step and a new situation for international student education in the new era and lay a foundation for the training of international talents in the university.
