Contributing to the China International Import Expo and spreading Chinese culture -International Education College organized international students to participate in the cultural flash mob of the Lujiazui Quality Life Festival

On November 5th, the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was successfully held in Shanghai. In order to learn the spirit of the 20th Party Congress, implement the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the CIIE opening ceremony, promote high quality of life with high quality development, and spread Chinese culture and voice positively, the College of International Education organized international students to participate in the cultural flash mob organized by Shanghai Business School, Gala bay and Shanghai Modern Enterprise Development Co. Ltd. to better implement the university's philosophy of business-oriented and application-oriented, enrich the daily life of international students, strengthen the dissemination of Chinese traditional culture and folklore, and expand the international influence of the university.

As a supporting activity of the CIIE, the Lujiazui Quality Life Festival is a “north-south linkage” from “National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai)” to “GALA BAY” and the main venue of the CIIE. It aims to let international students experience the charm of national culture through cultural display and immersion experience, and it is also an innovative exhibition activity with the theme of commodity culture of the Expo. Through two themed cultural flash activities, “Xinchang homespun” intangible cultural heritage experience and floral culture creation experience, international students from all over the world can experience the world’s national culture and Chinese excellent traditional culture through the activity which integrates the elements of national-style architecture and Shanghai landmarks creation and the floral art production which brings together domestic and foreign characteristics. The two themed cultural flash mobs allow international students from all over the world to experience the charm of global country culture, Chinese traditional culture and intangible cultural heritage, build emotional ties in cultural exchanges, deepen their knowledge and understanding of Chinese culture, and fully demonstrate the spillover effect of the CIIE.

The event further helped international students understand Chinese culture, deepened their understanding of China, enhanced their emotional awareness of knowing, loving and being friendly with China, and strengthened the spread of Chinese culture and voice, as well as contributed to the international development of the university.
