On Tuesday afternoon, October 17, 2023, the College of International Education held an exchange event with the theme of appreciating traditional Chinese folk instruments for international students from around the world. During the exchange, international students learned about the evolution of traditional national musical instruments in China, appreciated the beauty of ancient rhyme and strengthened their aesthetic education.
The exchange takes the introduction of the development history of traditional Chinese folk instruments as the starting point, explaining the changes and development in the production process and how to play these refined music instruments. We also invited Chinese students to perform traditional Chinese instruments such as the guzheng, pipa, and flute on site for international students. They all spoke highly of the melodious charm.
This exchange focuses on aesthetic education, organically imbued with Chinese sentiment. Through this activity, international students can further strengthen the understanding of traditional Chinese instruments and culture, enhance artistic appreciation and aesthetic abilities, hence improve humanistic quality.
