On the morning of November 19th, participants from Seminar on ESG Information Disclosure for Asian Countries, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of Shanghai Business School, visited and inspected Shanghai Enjie New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Enjie Co., Ltd."). A total of 33 government officials from four countries, including Bangladesh, Laos, Mongolia and Nepal, participated in the event.
During the visit, the person in charge of Enjie Co., Ltd. showed the company's development history, operations, main business, and partners to the participants, and provided a detailed introduction to the company's ESG-based operational management system. He stated that Enjie Co., Ltd. has always been committed to the path of sustainable development, implementing the concept of green development, and practicing low-carbon environmental protection, energy conservation and consumption reduction in enterprise production and operation. ESG, as a good corporate governance mechanism, not only helps to enhance company value and safeguard shareholder rights, but serves as an important foundation for enterprises to achieve sustainable development.
The participants of the seminar showed great interest in the company's practice in the ESG field. They had lively discussions and exchanges with the leaders of the company on the necessity of carrying out ESG work, how to promote ESG work, improve the quality of ESG information disclosure, and how to control costs in the ESG process. Mr. Maud Sawar Murshid, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Economic Relations Department of the Ministry of Finance in Bangladesh, stated that China is a leading country in carrying out ESG work among developing countries. The chance of conducting on-site inspections and learning from the experience of China's private sector in promoting ESG development, and gaining a deeper understanding of the cooperation measures between the Chinese government and private sector in related fields, will also help Bangladesh formulate relevant policies to promote ESG development and improve ESG information disclosure levels.
During the seminar, the participants also visited the production base of Enjie Co., Ltd. and witnessed the assembly line of production firsthand. This experience has not merely provided a learning platform for them, but been an important window for China to share its practice and innovation in the ESG field with other participating countries. We hope to use this as an opportunity to deepen exchanges and cooperation among countries in the ESG field, and work together to contribute to building a more green, inclusive, and sustainable future.
