Seminar on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Management in Latin America, Caribbean Countries and South Pacific Region Completed Successfully

On the morning of September 1, 2021 (GMT+8), the closing ceremony for "Seminar on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Management in Latin America, Caribbean Countries and South Pacific Region" hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was held online. Mr. Fang Meng from Division of Foreign Economic Cooperation of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Mr.Zhang Peng, Director of Shanghai Xieshen Enterprise Development Service Center and Mr. Chen Wei, Executive Vice Dean of the College of International Education of our university attended the ceremony.

Mr.Chen Wei summarized the seminar on behalf of our university.He pointed out that this Seminar is not only a new starting point for China and Latin America, Caribbean Countries and South Pacific Region to learn from each other in the field of SME Management, but also a link for the continuous warming relationship between the countries. He hopes that the participants can bring back the knowledge and experience gained during the Seminar and promote the improvement of the domestic SME management level.

Mr.Zhang Peng believes that promoting the innovation and development of SMEs is the central task of governments at all levels. All the participants are the governments and business elites of each country and shoulder the important task of building the country. Although we are in different time zones,we can communicate on the same platform, which deepens mutual friendship and understanding, and makes continuous contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Mr.Edgar Patricio Gutiérrez Bonilla, Chairman of Commercial Radar from Ecuador, spoke on behalf of all the participants. He pointed out that it was China’s millennium culture that brought officials from various countries to this seminar. The two-week experience greatly encouraged Latin American SMEs to develop trade and investment with China, which undoubtedly opened up a new window for the development of Latin American SMEs.

On behalf of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Mr.Fang Meng expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the participants and staff. He pointed out that although the sharing of experiences and exchanges in the cloud has limitations, the friendship forged by the seminars will surely last forever. He expects that all the participants will experience the development results of China's SME management on site after the epidemic is over, so as to better promote the management level of domestic SMEs.

This Seminar lasts for 14 days, 121 government officials and business executives from 7 countries including Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela participated.
