Seminar on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Management for Portuguese-Speaking Countries Completed Successfully

On the evening of December 23, 2021 (GMT+8), the closing ceremony for "Seminar on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Management for Portuguese-Speaking Countries" hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was held online. Mr. Chen Wei, Executive Vice Dean of the College of International Education of our university attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

In recent years, with the further deepening of cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, both sides have the need to adjust their trade structure and carry out industrial transformation, therefore, the importance of SMEs in cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries has greatly increased. In this context, holding this Seminar is an important measure to actively implement the B&R initiative, promote unimpeded trade and people-to-people bonds, and is a practical action to help the construction of the Shanghai International Trade Center and enhance the city's energy level and core competitiveness.

At the ceremony, Chen Wei comprehensively summarized the learning results of this Seminar, and gave high affirmation and positive comments to the participants. He hopes that the participants can use this Seminar as a new starting point to jointly make positive contributions to the sustainable economic and social development between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and can come to Shanghai after the epidemic to share the achievements of China's development.

David Oliveira Varela, a senior technician of the Cape Verde National Press, thanked the sponsors and organizers for their efforts on behalf of all the participants. He mentioned that China has funded many projects in the fields of health, infrastructure, education, sports and trade in Cape Verde. The SMEs of both sides have frequent interactions and have achieved a lot of cooperation fruits in different fields. This Seminar also gave the participants the opportunity to communicate with many Small and Medium Business Owners and enhance friendly cooperation between China and Portuguese countries.

The day before the ceremony, our university also held a Summary Exchange Meeting and many online interviews with participants. Based on their own insights and gains, the participants discussed the review and thinking of this Seminar from different aspects. Thomas Cristofaro Warrenner, a government official from Minas Gerais of Brazil, said that the online training model is more flexible and efficient, and the learning platform has rich functions, which strengthens the alliance and friendship between the Portuguese-speaking countries and the Chinese people.
