On the evening of June 18, College of International Education successfully organized the 2021 Recruitment Interview of International Students in 6 meeting rooms on the 13th and 15th floors of Xuhui campus. The interview team is led by Mr. Chen Wei, Executive Vice Dean of our college, and Ms. Dai Ying，Vice Dean of our college, and composed of 12 teachers from College of Business Administration, College of Hotel Management, College of Finance and ourself. 169 international students from 34 countries were interviewed online from common sense and professional perspective through the VooV Meeting. The entire interview process is open, fair and videotaped.

On the afternoon of June 11, our college organized the activity " The Fragrance Of Zongzi From Far Beyond Makes Our Friendship Forever Bond" together with Shanghai Science and Technology Translation Society（SSTTS） and Liaokun Community Residential Committee of Yangpu District, international students from our college participated in this Dragon Boat Festival Cultural Activity.

On the afternoon of May 28th, 2021, a Shanghai International Table Tennis Museum visit for international students was organized by the college of international education, aiming to appreciate the outstanding Chinese sports culture through the development history of table tennis.

On May 26th , 2021, our college invited Prof. Min Jianzhong, Ph.D. in mathematics from Fudan University, to carry out a special math game tour for international students. The way of mathematical thinking in the game brought a cultural experience to the students.

On May 25th, Iradukunda Aimee from Rwanda and Abdusattor Somonii from Tajikistan, the two international students from our college, joined the culture tour initiated by Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Jiaxing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and organized by Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association, China Center of University of Manchester and Magnificent Culture. This has been the third time Magnificent Culture organized culture tour of this kind for foreigners. More than 60 people from 28 countries and international students from 11 Shanghai and Jiaxing universities have attended the event, including Professor YU Hongjun, Chief Consultant of Magnificent Culture and former Deputy Minister of International Department of Central Committee of CPC; SHA Hailin, Chairman of the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and its Deputy Chairman JING Ying; SHEN Wenping, Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of Jiaxing Municipal Government; LU Jianfei, Executive Vice Chairman of Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association and FU Xiaoxiao, Executive Vice Chairman of University of Manchester Branch of Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association, Director of China Center of University of Manchester and Founder of Magnificent Culture.

On the afternoon of April 30, 2021, the international students walked into Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Photography to learn about the history of Chinese old cameras. The visit themed on “Cameras Talk about Chinese Cultural Transition” started with the introduction to the history of cameras in China, and let the international students learn about Chinese technology and culture.

At 19：00 p.m. on April 28, 2021, college of International Education invited Dai Rongrong of Shanghai Jiaotong University and ruanjunbin of Shanghai Medical College of health to hold an online lecture for the students studying in our college.

On September 21, 2020, the college of international education warmly welcomed its new international students, who were mainly from Russia and Turkmenistan etc.

On May 17, 2020, the 70th anniversary of SBS, the international students also participated in this celebration by videos. MONA from Germany, KIM from South Korea, and AIMEE from Rwanda sent their best wishes to SBS by self-made videos, and expressed their thanks for SBS and fondness of China in these videos.

On December 27, 2019, the international students took part in the “SSTTS Cup” event sponsored by Shanghai Science & Technology Translation Society (SSTTS).

On June 1, 2019, the international students took part in the 12th Shanghai International Students Dragon Boat Race sponsored by East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST). The dragon boat race is a traditional Chinese custom on the Dragon Boat Festival. Tradition has it that, after Qu Yuan, an upright minister in the ancient Chu State, threw himself into the river, many people rushed to save him by boat. They chased to as far as the Dongting Lake, but failed.

On the night of May 30, 2019, the international students joined Chinese students to celebrate the 4th SBS Food Festival, themed by “Passing on Local Cuisines, Carrying Forward Innovative Culinary Arts”. T
