In order to continuously promote the high-quality and connotative development of our university’s English-taught demonstration courses for international students, the 2023 Shanghai Business School’s International Students English Demonstration Course Construction Project Appraisal Meeting was organized by the College of International Education in a combination of online and offline methods on November 4th. Chen Yili, Director of the International Student Office of Tongji University, Sun Bing, Dean of the College of International Cultural Exchange of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Li Yuewen, Deputy Dean of the College of International Education of Shanghai University of Engineering Science, attended the meeting as review experts. On the evening of October 27, 2022 (GMT+8), the closing ceremony for "Seminar on Digital Development of Asia-Pacific Ports and Shipping in the Post-pandemic Period" hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was held online. Chen Wei, executive vice dean of International Education College and expert representative Xu Mingqiang, senior engineer of China Communications Center, attended the closing ceremony and delivered speeches.

On the morning of October 26, 2022 (GMT+8), the closing ceremony for "Seminar on Economic and Commercial Cooperation for the Dominican Republic " hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was held online. Chen Wei, executive vice dean of International Education College of our university and Prof. Chen Xiaojing, expert representative from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics attended the closing ceremony and delivered speeches.

In order to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, promote high-quality development and high-level opening to the outside world, with the support of the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Center, Portuguese Investment and Foreign Trade Agency, Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Sino-Portuguese Enterprise Exchange Conference was successfully held on the evening of October 26 at Xuhui campus of our university and the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The conference was attended by 10 Chinese enterprises, including Shanghai Waigaoqiao International Trading Operation Center Co., Ltd., Bright Food International Trade (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Oriental International (Group) Co., Ltd. , and 16 Portuguese enterprises, including Take The Wind S.A., Super Bock Group and Maporal Company. The exchange conference was held in a combination of offline and online, which was presided over by Vice President He Ying, accompanied by Chen Wei, executive vice dean of International Education College.

On the evening of September 22, 2022 (GMT+8), the closing ceremonies for "Seminar on Management of Investment Zones" and "Seminar on Capacity and International Supply Chain Cooperation for Belt and Road Countries " hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) were held online. Chen Wei, executive vice dean of International Education College of Shanghai Business School attended the ceremonies and delivered speeches. Zhang Juan, associate researcher from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, and Zhao Gang, professor from Shanghai Maritime University also made remarks on behalf of the experts.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, October 18, 2022, the College of International Education held a “Martial Art Stars Coming” event for international students from all over the world, introducing a number of Chinese and Overseas Chinese martial arts stars and their representative films. The event spread Chinese martial arts culture through online communication, enhanced the friendship between Chinese and international students, and presented a unique and splendid charming China to them.

On the evening of October 18, 2022 (GMT+8), the International Maritime Supply Chain Development Forum, co-organized by the College of Business Administration of our university and MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was successfully held. The forum is conducted in a combination of online and offline. Zhou Dequan, Chief Economist of Shanghai International Shipping Institute, Director of Shipping Development Research Institute, Director of China Shipping Prosperity Index Compilation Office, Yin Yanhai, Associate Professor, Head of Logistics Management Department of the College of Business Administration, Ts’oanelo Mildred Seiboko, Deputy Financial Manager of the Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance of Lesotho, and Getaendalew Menberu, Industrial Engineering Consultant of the Kaizen Excellence Center of Ethiopia, delivered keynote speeches respectively. Vice President He Ying presided over the forum, which was attended by 60 officials from the Seminar on Capacity and International Supply Chain Cooperation for Belt and Road Countries hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by our university. They are from 15 countries including Turkey, Zambia, Lesotho, Kiribati, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Nepal, Venezuela, Nigeria, Cambodia, Kenya, and Sierra Leone, etc.

In the afternoon of Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the College of International Education held a seminar on “Carnival of Vision and Palate” for international students from all over the world, introducing different types of costumes in Chinese history and distinctive cuisines from different regions, spreading Chinese culture to international students in a vivid way online, enhancing the friendship between Chinese and foreign students, and presenting a unique and beautiful China to international students.
