On the morning of June 29, 2023, the opening ceremony for the Seminar on Science and Technology Innovation for Latin American Countries hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was held smoothly. Mr. Chen Jianfeng (Vice President of Shanghai Business School), Ms. Liu Beimin (a researcher fellow from Foreign Economic and Cooperation Division of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce), and Mr. Chen Wei (Executive Vice Dean of International Education College of SBS, and Vice Director of the Training Base) attended the opening ceremony.

On the morning of June 29, Vice President Chen Jianfeng met with Ms. Danmarys Hernández, Viceministerio para la Comunalización de la Ciencia para la Producción and Mr. Hausilius, Assistant Minister of Science and Technology of Venezuela. Ms. Liu Beimin, Fellow Researcher from Foreign Economics and Cooperation Division of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and Mr. Chen Wei, Vice Executive Dean of International Education College of Shanghai Business School and Deputy Director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), also attended the meeting.

In the afternoon of June 21, 2023, the closing ceremony for the Seminar on International Logistics and Multimodal Transport hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was held online. Mr. Chen Wei (Executive Vice Dean of the International Education College in Shanghai Business School and Vice Director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials) and Professor Wang Chuanxu from Shanghai Maritime University (serving as the representative of experts) delivered speeches at the ceremony.

In the afternoon of June 20, 2023 (Tue.), the College of International Education organized an online meeting on Summer Vacation Safety Education for International Students to remind them of the matters they should pay attention to during the summer vacation, to raise their awareness of safety and to build a “safety net”.

At 7:00 pm on June 12th, Beijing time, the forum on "Optimization of Business Environment for Developing Countries" jointly hosted by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) and the College of Business and Economics was successfully held. The forum was conducted both online and offline. Professor Zhang Qichen, vice dean of Business and Economics and deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office, presided over the forum. Xu Xin and Wang Qian, associate professors of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics delivered keynote speeches as Chinese experts. Then Sylvester Mwale, an investment coordinator from Zambia, spoke as a representative of foreign experts. A total of 51 participants from 19 countries participated in the forum online, including Afghanistan, Albania, Cambodia, Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Panama, Philippines, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Zambia.

On the afternoon of June 10, 2023 (Tue.), the College of International Education organized international students to participate in the 13th Dragon Boat Regatta for International Students in Colleges and Universities. Dragon boat racing is a traditional Chinese folklore and a sports and recreational activity. The dragon boat culture embodies the patriotic feelings and Chinese cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation by Chinese people. Through participating in the Dragon Boat Regatta, the international students learned about the interesting Chinese culture, and experienced the unique and wonderful traditional Chinese customs.

On the afternoon of May 23, 2023 (Tue.), a sharing and exchange activity with the theme of appreciating traditional Chinese musical instruments was organized online for the international students of the College of International Education to introduce traditional Chinese musical instruments and music, spread the ancient Chinese culture and manifest the cultural heritage.

On the afternoon of May 23rd, a closing ceremony was held for the seminar on logistics development and management for developing countries hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) in Shanghai Business School. On the afternoon of May 19, 2023, the College of International Education successfully held the international students’ exchange meeting in the conference room on the 7th floor of the Fengxian Complex Building. Associate Dean Chen Wei and Dai Ying, all the staff of the International Student Office, and representatives of international students from the College of Business Administration and the College of Professional Finance & Accountancy attended the meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to investigate and understand the difficulties and problems faced by international students in studying and living in China and to jointly promote the high-quality development of international students’ education.
