To raise the awareness of safety prevention among international students, deepen safety education, improve their safety literacy, and create a safe and healthy learning and living environment, the College of International Education organized an online safety education training on April 25th. The training covered fire safety and fraud prevention education, with Ding Guoyue, the chief of Fengpu Police Station from the Fengxian Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, invited as the guest speaker.

In order to continuously advance the high-quality and connotation development of the exemplary English-taught courses for international students, the College of International Education took the lead in organizing the 2022 SBS Meeting on the Acceptance Review of Exemplary English-Taught Course Construction for International Students by combining online and offline methods on April 14. Chen Yili (Director of International Students Office of Tongji University), Sun Bing (Dean of International Cultural Exchange School of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics), and Zhu Zhanghua (Dean of College of International Cultural Exchange of Shanghai Ocean University) attended the Meeting as the evaluation experts, and 9 teachers from College of Professional & Accountancy, College of Business Administration, College of Business and Economics and College of Hospitality Management of Shanghai Business School and relevant staffs from International Students Office of College of International Education attended the Meeting presided over by Dai Ying, Vice Dean of College of International Education.

On the evening of April 10, 2023 (GMT +8.00), the closing ceremonies for the Seminar on Import and Export Trade for Developing Countries and the Seminar on Engineering Project Management for Developing Countries hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) were held online. Vice Dean Dai Ying of the International Education College of Shanghai Business School attended both ceremonies and delivered speeches. The representatives of the lecturers, Ms. Zhang Juan (an associate research fellow from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics) and Mr. Guan Wei (a professor-level senior engineer from the Office of Science and Technology Committee of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Urban and Rural Construction and Management) attended corresponding ceremonies and made speeches.

On the morning of April 6, 2023, the International Education College of Shanghai Business School held a routine meeting on international student education. Online or offline, Vice President He Ying, college deans in charge of international student education, international student class teachers/counselors of each college and relevant personnel of the International Education College attended the meeting presided over by Vice Executive Dean Chen Wei.

On March 29, 2023 (GMT +8.00), the opening ceremonies for the Seminar on Monetary and Banking Management for Latin American, Caribbean and South Pacific Countries and the Seminar on Financial Management for Developing Countries hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) was held online. Mrs. Liu Beimin (a research fellow from Foreign Economics and Cooperation Division of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce) attended both ceremonies. Mr. Chen Wei (Executive Vice Dean of International Education College of SBS, and Vice Director of the Training Base) and Ms. Dai Ying (Vice Dean of International Education College of SBS and Vice Director of the Training Base) attended the two opening ceremonies respectively.

On the evening of March 28, 2023 (GMT +8.00), the online opening ceremonies for the Seminar on Import and Export Trade for Developing Countries and the Seminar on Engineering Project Management for Developing Countries hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) were held online, kicking off Shanghai Business School’s 2023 annual foreign aid trainings. Mr. Fang Meng from the Foreign Economics and Cooperation Division of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and Mr. Chen Wei (Executive Vice Dean of International Education College of SBS, and Vice Director of the Training Base) attended the opening ceremonies and delivered speeches.

On the morning of March 30, a 7-people delegation from Jiangxi College of Foreign Studies, including Rao Jianhua (a member of the College Party Committee), Ru Jun (Dean of College of Business Administration, also the College of Tourism), Ning Xiaoque (Director of Continuing Education Department, also the Training Center), etc., visited SBS for exchanges on foreign aid training work. Vice Dean Dai Ying of the International Education College of SBS presided over the research and exchange meeting.

In the afternoon of March 28, the International Education College held an exchange activity themed on Silk Road & the Culture of China’s Western Regions for international students, introducing the thousand-year-old Silk Road and the splendid culture of China’s Western Regions and presenting a unique and wonderful charming China.

On March 22nd , Mr. Wu Zhong, President and Deputy Party Secretary of SBS, went to the International Cooperation Division, the International Education College and the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) for investigation and guided the work. The meeting was attended by Xu Yingying (Director of President’s Office and the Party Committee Office), Liu Bin (Director of the International Cooperation Division), Chen Wei (Executive Vice Dean of International Education College and MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai)) and Dai Ying (Vice Dean of International Education College) and other related staff. The meeting was presided over by Xu Yingying.

On March 19th 2023, a group of nearly 90 international students from more than 30 countries enjoyed a Shanghai tour organized by the International Education College. This tour aimed to impress international students with the charm of Shanghai in the early spring days, help them know the city culture and further understand the progress that China has made since the reform and opening up, and integrate them better into local life and study.

In the afternoon of March 18, the Closing Review Meeting for the Research and Practice (Production Logistics) Project on Shanghai Qualifications Framework, which was commissioned by the Lifelong Education Department of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and carried out by the SBS Lifelong Learning Development and Evaluation Research Center, was successfully held and attended by Deputy Director Huang Feng of the Lifelong Education Department of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and some members of the project team. A total of 6 experts from Shanghai Open University, Tongji University, Shanghai Peng’an Shipping Co., Ltd., Yunda Ltd., Shanghai Xuesheng Industrial Co., Ltd. and MUJI respectively were invited as members of the review team. The meeting was hosted by Chen Wei, Director of SBS Lifelong Learning Development and Evaluation Research Center.

On the morning of March 13th, Chen Changsheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province, Fan Huimei, Director of theForeign Investment and Economic Division, Zhang Qianfan, Deputy Director of the Foreign Investment and Economic Division, and Liu Jing, Deputy Director of the Open Development Division, visited our university to investigate foreign aid training. The meeting was chaired by Vice President of SBS He Ying, and attended by Deputy Dean Chen Wei and Dai Ying from the College of International Education of SBS.
