At a crucial stage in the continuous advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative, to deepen people-to-people exchanges and cooperation among Belt and Road countries and to foster a deeper understanding among international youth talents of China's local development practices, from May 6th to 10th, Shanghai Business School organized a training program for 18 trainees from seven Belt and Road countries—Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Gambia, Grenada, and Uzbekistan—to conduct in-depth exploration and learning in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province, focusing on industrial innovation, green development, cultural heritage, and rural revitalization.

On the morning of May 9th, the opening ceremony for the Seminar on Applying E-Port Solutions to Strengthen Supply Chain Interconnectivity and Upgrade Trade Facilitation Standards was successfully held. The seminar is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organized by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of Shanghai Business School (SBS). Zhou Jihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Party Branch of the College of International Education, and Chen Xiaojing, Professor at the School of Finance and Management, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

On the afternoon of May 9, the Nepal Judicial Practice Seminar, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and hosted by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), conducted an exchange visit to the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organisation International Judicial Exchange and Cooperation Training Base (hereinafter referred to as the "SCO Judicial Training Base"). The event was chaired by Zhang Shaoying, Deputy Director of the SCO Judicial Training Base Office at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. Attendees included Luo Ligang, Vice President of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and Executive Deputy Director of the SCO Judicial Training Base Office; Sun Liuhua, Deputy Director of the Training Department of the Base; and Chen Wei, Party Secretary of the College of International Education of Shanghai Business School (SBS).

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has inspected Shanghai multiple times, assigning Shanghai new missions, outlining a new blueprint for Shanghai, and requiring Shanghai to further play a leading role in the higher-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region and to do a good job in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. As an innovative engine for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, with its collaborative development pattern of "one corridor and nine cities", has built a golden corridor of scientific and technological innovation covering Shanghai, Jinhua, and other cities. From May 6th to 8th, 2025, the Seminar on Engineering Project Management for Developing Countries, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and undertaken by Shanghai Business School (SBS), organized 34 engineering officials and technical experts from 9 countries—Cuba, Grenada, Sri Lanka, Gambia, Fiji, Ethiopia, Palestine, Iraq, and Egypt—to visit Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, a key city along the G60 Sci-Tech Innovation Corridor.

To comprehensively improve the quality of education and management services for international students and ensure the orderly progress of various tasks in the new semester, on the morning of March 7th, the College of International Education held the regular meeting for class advisors of international students in Spring Semester 2024-2025. Zhou Jihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Branch of the College of International Education, staff from the International Student Office, and international students’ class advisors attended the meeting.

On the morning of May 7th, the opening ceremony of the Seminar on Diversified Financing Mechanisms for Mauritania was successfully held. The seminar is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organized by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of Shanghai Business School (SBS). Zhou Jihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Party Branch of the College of International Education, and Mi Jinhong, Professor from the School of Economics and Management, Shanghai Maritime University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

On the morning of April 29, the opening ceremony of the Seminar on Engineering Project Management for Developing Countries and the Seminar on Construction and Management of Development Zone for Sri Lanka was successfully held. The seminars are sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organized by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of Shanghai Business School (SBS). On April 28th, the Seminar on Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Developing Countries and the Belt and Road International Youth Talent Training Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organized by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of Shanghai Business School (SBS), conducted a study tour of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor in the Yangtze River Delta region. Dai Ying, Deputy Director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) at SBS, Man Yuanyuan, Head of the Innovation Cooperation Group at the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor Joint Office, Shen Yaoting, Deputy Mayor of Xinqiao Town, and Zhu Xiaochun, Director of the Investment Promotion Center, attended the event. Forty-one international business officials from 14 countries—Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, the Bahamas, Cabo Verde, Ethiopia, Cyprus, Fiji, the Gambia, Grenada, Iraq, South Africa, South Sudan, Timor-Leste, and Uzbekistan—participated in the activity.

On the morning of April 25th, the opening ceremony for the Seminar on Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Developing Countries and the Belt and Road International Youth Talent Training Program was successfully held. The programs are organized by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of SBS. Fang Meng from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce' Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation and Dai Ying, Deputy Director of MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

ddOn April 19, 2025, the College of International Education organized a one-day trip to Shanghai for over 40 international students. Themed "Urban Development and Civilizational Dialogue", the event included visits to urban development landmarks such as the Shanghai Expo Museum. Through immersive exhibitions and interactive experiences, students gained a deep understanding of the historical context of the World Expo, the wisdom of China's urbanization process, and the profound significance of global cultural exchange.

To deepen practical teaching reform and promote innovative industry-education integration talent cultivation models, the College of International Education recently organized international students to visit companies in the Fengxian Comprehensive Bonded Zone, COSMAX, Meigu Meigou Cross-border E-commerce, and the East China Architectural Design & Research Institute for practical activities. This event aims to build an international practice platform through university-enterprise collaboration, using a "scenario-based teaching + immersive practice" model to help students translate classroom learning into the ability to solve real-world problems, and explore new paths for cultivating international applied talents.
