On October 25th, College of International Education organized a one-day cultural experience trip, “Experience China, Explore Shanghai”, for 75 international students from Belt and Road countries such as Uzbekistan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The trip aimed to guide the students in closely experiencing the excellence of traditional Chinese culture and the charm of the modern metropolis through immersive city exploration, thereby further solidifying the brand connotation of “Study at SUIBE—Business Charm along the Silk Road”.

On October 23, the “Mauritania Seminar on Learning from China’s Digital Economy Development Experience”, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by SBS’s MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), conducted a field study at the Yixing City Operations Center in Jiangsu Province. Twenty-three officials from Mauritanian government institutions including the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Administrative Modernization, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research participated in this exchange activity.

On the afternoon of October 21, College of International Education successfully held a Chinese salon themed “LABUBU and ACG Culture”. As part of the brand-building initiative “Study at SBS——Silk Road Business Charm” for international students, this event adopted an innovative dual-track format combining “pop culture + immersive interaction”. It attracted active participation of students from over ten countries, who improved their Chinese language skills in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, gained a deeper understanding of contemporary Chinese youth culture, and further contributed to the global dissemination of outstanding Chinese culture.

To help the new international students of the Class of 2025 adapt to their study and life in China, clarify their academic goals, enhance safety awareness, and establish lofty ideals, the College of International Education of Shanghai Business School recently organized a series of freshman orientation activities under the theme of “Setting Sail and Pursuing Dreams in SBS”. This orientation covered multiple dimensions, including dormitory management, student affairs, academic administration, and campus safety. The comprehensive and well-focused content laid a solid foundation for the new international students to begin their academic journey in SBS.

On October 13, the Seminar on Civil Aviation Operation and Management for Central Asian Countries, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and hosted by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), visited the domestic large aircraft design and R&D center as well as the final assembly manufacturing center for an on-site inspection of commercial aircraft design, research, and large-scale, systematic production. 20 participants from three countries, including the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan, the Civil Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia, Mongolian Hunnu Airlines LLC, QAZAQ Air of Uzbekistan, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan participated in the visit.

On the morning of October 11, the opening ceremony of the Seminar on Learning from China’s Digital Economy Development for Mauritania, organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM) and undertaken by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of SBS, was successfully held. Dai Ying, Deputy Dean of the College of International Education and Deputy Director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), and Liu Jianguo, Professor from the School of Digital Economy at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics attended the opening ceremony.

On October 5, a delegation from the Jamaican Seminar on Labor and Social Security Policy Planning and Implementation, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and hosted by SBS, conducted a field visit to Xinnan Village and Xinchang Ancient Town in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. The visit focused on rural talent cultivation and rural innovation industry incubation platforms. Twenty officials from the Jamaican Ministry of Labor and Social Security and other agencies participated in the visit.

On the morning of September 29, the opening ceremony for Jamaica Seminar on Labor and Social Security Policy Planning and Implementation was held at the Caobao Road Campus. The seminar is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of SBS. Chen Wei, Secretary of the Directly-Affiliated Party Branch of the School of International Education from SBS, and Associate Professor Tao Li from the School of Management at Shanghai University attended and addressed the ceremony.

On the afternoon of September 23rd, Brazil Seminar on New Energy Industry Cooperation, hosted by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of SBS held a symposium and exchange activity in Feixi County, Hefei City, Anhui Province. Twenty-three participants from various Brazilian government departments and companies gathered with Chinese government representatives and business leaders for in-depth discussions on the development and cooperation in the new energy industry. Attendees included Chen Wei, Secretary of the Direct Party Branch of the School of International Education from SBS; Man Yuanyuan, Deputy Director of the Yangtze River Delta G60 Sci-Tech Innovation Corridor Joint Office; Zhang Ming, Deputy County Head of Feixi County; and representatives from leading local new energy enterprises.

On the afternoon of September 23, the International Education College and the Shanghai Training Base for International Business Officials (MOFCOM) held a Fall Semester Work Deployment Meeting in conference room 1501 of the West Zhongshan Road Campus. The meeting aimed to clarify the key tasks for the new semester, further unify thinking, and consolidate strength, laying a foundation for the orderly development of the college’s various tasks in the new semester. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Secretary Zhou Jihong, with Dean Liu Bin and all faculty and staff of the college in attendance.

On the afternoon of September 21st, the Arab Nations Culture and Tourism Integration Development Training Program, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by SBS’s Ministry of Commerce International Business Officials Training Base (Shanghai), conducted a field study trip to the Shanghai Hengfu Historical and Cultural Preservation Area. Twenty-nine trainees from six countries including Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Jordan, and Palestine visited the area accompanied by professional guides from the Xuhui District Culture and Tourism Service and Development Center, gaining an in-depth understanding of this urban model that integrates historical preservation with contemporary vitality.

On September 20th, international students from Shanghai Business School were invited to participate in the special Mid-Autumn Festival event “Full Moon, Global Gathering” hosted by the Fengxian Exit-Entry Administration. The event encompassed various segments including an introduction to the traditional festival, anti-fraud education, a hands-on mooncake making workshop, a garden party with lantern riddle guessing, and a dome theater film screening.
