In order to study and implement education of Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, comprehensively and solidly promote investigation and research, deepen the integration of practice, production, and education, and promote the high-quality development of foreign aid training, Chen Wei, executive vice dean of College of International Education and deputy director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of Shanghai Business School, and other delegates went to Nanning and Liuzhou of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from June 1 to June 3 to conduct investigation and exchange.

On the morning of June 1, 2023, Beijing time, the opening ceremony of the seminar on international logistics and multimodal transport, hosted byMinistry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), was successfully held. Liu Beimin and Fang Meng, researchers of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Department of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and Dai Ying, the vice dean of the International Education College of SBS attended the ceremony.

On the afternoon of May 23, 2023 (Tue.), a sharing and exchange activity with the theme of appreciating traditional Chinese musical instruments was organized online for the international students of the College of International Education to introduce traditional Chinese musical instruments and music, spread the ancient Chinese culture and manifest the cultural heritage.

On the afternoon of May 23rd, a closing ceremony was held for the seminar on logistics development and management for developing countries hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) in Shanghai Business School. Chen Wei, Executive Vice Dean of International Education College of Shanghai Business School, and Vice Director of MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), and Prof. Wang Xuefeng, Expert Representative from Shanghai Maritime University attended the ceremony.

On the afternoon of May 19, 2023, the College of International Education successfully held the international students’ exchange meeting in the conference room on the 7th floor of the Fengxian Complex Building. Associate Dean Chen Wei and Dai Ying, all the staff of the International Student Office, and representatives of international students from the College of Business Administration and the College of Professional Finance & Accountancy attended the meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to investigate and understand the difficulties and problems faced by international students in studying and living in China and to jointly promote the high-quality development of international students’ education.

On the morning of May 19th, "The Belt and Road" Sustainable Development Research Institute of Shanghai Business School and the International Business Officials Training Base of the Ministry of Commerce (Shanghai) held the "the belt and road" academic salon on international development cooperation. Zhang Weiqi, director of the Center for Brazilian Studies and the deputy director of the Portuguese Language Teaching and Research Office of the School of European and Latin American Studies at Shanghai International Studies University, shared the work of area studies and experience in writing research reports. The associate dean of the Faculty of International Education Chen Wei and some staff from the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Business Economics attended the academic salon.

On the afternoon of May 9th, the College of International Education held an interesting Rubik’s Cube salon for international students from all over the world, which tested their ability of learning, observation and calculation.

On the morning of May 5, 2023, Beijing time, the opening ceremony for the Seminar on local development experience for municipal officials from the Republic of Congo, hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) , was successfully held. Liu Beimin, researcher of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Department of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, He Ying, Vice President of SBS and Dai Ying, Vice Dean of International Education College of SBS attended the opening ceremony. This seminar is the first foreign aid training program organized by our university after three years of the epidemic.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 25, 2023, the College of International Education held an online event for international students from all over the world. The theme was appreciating famous Chinese architecture, introducing students to famous Chinese architecture, and showing the culture and wisdom contained in the distinctive and wonderfully charming Chinese architecture.

To raise the awareness of safety prevention among international students, deepen safety education, improve their safety literacy, and create a safe and healthy learning and living environment, the College of International Education organized an online safety education training on April 25th. The training covered fire safety and fraud prevention education, with Ding Guoyue, the chief of Fengpu Police Station from the Fengxian Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, invited as the guest speaker.

In order to continuously advance the high-quality and connotation development of the exemplary English-taught courses for international students, the College of International Education took the lead in organizing the 2022 SBS Meeting on the Acceptance Review of Exemplary English-Taught Course Construction for International Students by combining online and offline methods on April 14. Chen Yili (Director of International Students Office of Tongji University), Sun Bing (Dean of International Cultural Exchange School of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics), and Zhu Zhanghua (Dean of College of International Cultural Exchange of Shanghai Ocean University) attended the Meeting as the evaluation experts, and 9 teachers from College of Professional & Accountancy, College of Business Administration, College of Business and Economics and College of Hospitality Management of Shanghai Business School and relevant staffs from International Students Office of College of International Education attended the Meeting presided over by Dai Ying, Vice Dean of College of International Education.

On the evening of April 10, 2023 (GMT +8.00), the closing ceremonies for the Seminar on Import and Export Trade for Developing Countries and the Seminar on Engineering Project Management for Developing Countries hosted by Ministry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) were held online. Vice Dean Dai Ying of the International Education College of Shanghai Business School attended both ceremonies and delivered speeches. The representatives of the lecturers, Ms. Zhang Juan (an associate research fellow from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics) and Mr. Guan Wei (a professor-level senior engineer from the Office of Science and Technology Committee of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Urban and Rural Construction and Management) attended corresponding ceremonies and made speeches.
